Business Clients

eSolicitors is used by individual clients and businesses alike. Whether you are a startup founder, a growing SME, or part of an in-house legal team, this page explains how the platform works for business use.

Who Is This For?

eSolicitors serves businesses of all sizes:

  • Startups and founders needing legal support on incorporation, contracts, IP, and employment
  • SMEs with ongoing commercial, property, or employment matters
  • Growing businesses dealing with disputes, regulatory requirements, or corporate transactions
  • In-house legal teams supplementing capacity with external specialist lawyers
  • International businesses needing UK, US, or multi-jurisdiction legal advice

How Business Clients Use the Platform

The platform works the same way for businesses as it does for individuals. You create a client account, search for lawyers, book consultations, and manage matters through your client portal.

There is no separate "business account" type. You register as a client and can use the platform for both personal and commercial matters.

Finding a Lawyer for Business Matters

Use the AI Matching Wizard to find lawyers who specialise in commercial and business work. Relevant practice areas include:

  • Commercial Law -- contracts, supplier agreements, terms of business, IP licensing
  • Corporate Law -- company formation, shareholder agreements, M&A, due diligence
  • Employment Law -- contracts, dismissal, settlement agreements, TUPE
  • Property Law -- commercial leases, property acquisitions, landlord and tenant
  • Intellectual Property -- trademarks, copyright, licensing, confidentiality agreements
  • Dispute Resolution -- commercial disputes, breach of contract, debt recovery
  • Regulatory and Compliance -- data protection, FCA compliance, sector-specific regulation
  • Immigration Law -- skilled worker visas, business immigration, sponsor licences

Each lawyer lists their specific sub-categories. Look for lawyers who list the specific type of work your business needs -- for example, a lawyer who lists "Shareholder Agreements" or "TUPE" rather than just "Employment Law" generally.

Fixed-Fee Services for Common Business Needs

Many lawyers on eSolicitors offer fixed-fee services for common business legal tasks:

  • Contract drafting and review
  • Employment contract templates and bespoke drafting
  • Terms and conditions for e-commerce businesses
  • Non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements
  • Trademark application advice
  • Company secretarial and governance advice

Browse services at esolicitors.com/services to find fixed-fee work relevant to your business.

The eSolicitors template store includes professionally drafted documents commonly used by businesses:

  • Employment contracts and offer letters
  • Commercial service agreements
  • Non-disclosure agreements
  • Website terms and privacy policies
  • Shareholder agreements
  • Director service agreements

You can purchase individual templates or bundles. All templates are reviewed and approved by qualified lawyers before listing. Browse at esolicitors.com/templates.

Project Posting for Defined Scopes

If you have a defined piece of work -- for example, "review and redraft our standard supplier agreement" -- you can post it as a project and invite bids from qualified lawyers.

  1. Go to esolicitors.com/client/projects and post your project
  2. Set a budget, describe the work, and specify any requirements
  3. Qualified lawyers submit bids with proposed approaches and pricing
  4. You review bids and select the lawyer that best fits your needs

Project posting is particularly useful for one-off, well-defined tasks where you want competitive pricing from multiple lawyers.

Managing Multiple Matters

Your client portal gives you a full view of all active matters, consultations, and orders. If your business needs legal support across multiple areas simultaneously, you can manage separate matters with different lawyers from the same account.

Each matter has its own milestone tracker, message thread, document store, and payment history.

International and Multi-Jurisdiction Work

eSolicitors hosts lawyers qualified in England and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia, and other international jurisdictions. If your business operates across multiple countries, you can find lawyers verified for each jurisdiction from a single platform.

When booking a consultation or reviewing a scope, the advising jurisdiction is recorded, so you always know which legal system the advice relates to.

Premium Client Plan

The Premium client plan is designed for business clients with higher legal service needs:

  • More consultation credits per month
  • Higher monthly download limits for templates
  • Lower buyer protection fee on larger matters

See Subscription Plans for a full comparison.
