Client Subscription Plans
As a client, you can choose from three subscription tiers. All clients start on the Free plan and can upgrade at any time.

Buyer Protection Fee
The buyer protection fee is applied to the client side of each matter payment. It covers:
- Dispute resolution services
- Escrow management
- Platform payment protection
The rate is a percentage of the matter value, degressive by band (lower rate for higher-value matters). Premium subscribers pay a lower rate than Standard, who pay less than Free.
Exact rates are displayed transparently in the checkout before you pay.
Consultation Credits
Consultation credits allow you to book the £15 AI Scoping Consultation with a lawyer. Each credit = one consultation booking.
- Free plan: 1 consultation credit per month
- Standard: 5 consultation credits per month
- Premium: Unlimited consultation bookings
Credits refresh on your billing date each month. Unused credits do not roll over.
The £15 booking fee is separate from your consultation credit - you always pay £15 per consultation regardless of plan.
Template Downloads
Client subscription plans include monthly downloads of eSolicitors platform templates (templates published by eSolicitors, not by individual lawyers).
Note: Templates listed by individual lawyers (solicitors selling their own documents) are not subject to the monthly download limit - you purchase these separately and can buy as many as you like.
Project Posting
You can post legal projects to the Project Bidding Marketplace. Lawyers browse and submit bids. Your monthly limit depends on your plan:

Upgrading Your Plan
You can upgrade at any time from the pricing page or from your client portal dashboard.
- Upgrade takes effect immediately - new limits apply at once
- You are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period
- Downgrade takes effect at the next billing cycle
Plan My Case - Free for Everyone
Plan My Case (the AI legal advisor) is available to all users, including those without an account:
- Anonymous / no account: 5 sessions per hour (by IP address)
- Registered users (any plan): 20 sessions per hour
Plan My Case is a free feature and is not affected by your subscription tier.
Billing
- Plans are billed monthly via Stripe
- Cancel anytime from your portal settings - you retain access until the end of the billing period
- If payment fails, your account reverts to Free after a grace period
Do I Need a Paid Plan?
No. Many clients complete their legal matter entirely on the Free plan. The Free plan includes:
- 1 consultation per month (each consultation can lead to a full matter)
- 3 template downloads per month
- Full access to all platform features
Consider upgrading if you regularly instruct lawyers for multiple matters per month or want to reduce the buyer protection fee rate.
