Lawyer Verification - 5-Step Process

Lawyer Portal → Verify (or click the verification prompt on your dashboard)

The 5 Verification Steps

Step 1 - Regulatory Registration

Enter your registration number. The system attempts auto-verification:

  • SRA number (6–7 digits): Instant SRA Public Register lookup
  • BSB number (5–6 digits): Instant BSB Barristers' Register lookup
  • US state bar (CA/NY/TX/FL/IL): State bar API lookup
  • All others: Manual review queue (1 business day)

If auto-verification succeeds, you see "Registration Verified" immediately.

Step 2 - Practising Certificate

Upload your current practising certificate (PDF or JPG, max 10MB). Admin reviews within 1–2 business days.

Step 3 - Photo ID

Upload a government-issued photo ID (passport preferred). Admin reviews within 1–2 business days.

Step 4 - PII Insurance Certificate

Upload your current PII insurance certificate. Must show:

  • Your name (or firm name)
  • Valid cover dates
  • Insured amount

Step 5 - Proof of Address

Upload a document dated within the last 3 months (bank statement, utility bill, or official letter).

Enhanced-verified lawyers appear higher in search results and attract more client trust.

After Verification

Once all steps are approved (typically 1–2 business days), your profile goes live and you appear in search results.
