Step 3: Set Up Your Profile

Lawyer Profile - Set Up Your Public Profile

Where to Go

Lawyer Portal → My Profile

What to Complete

Profile Photo

Upload a professional headshot (JPG or PNG, at least 400×400px). Profiles with photos receive significantly more enquiries than those without.

Professional Biography

Write a bio of at least 100 words. Good bios:

  • Explain your background and experience
  • List the types of matters you specialise in
  • Mention any notable achievements or areas of focus
  • Are written in plain English (avoid jargon where possible)

Practice Areas and Sub-Categories

You selected practice areas during sign-up. In your profile, also add sub-categories - the specific types of work within each area. Sub-categories are crucial for AI matching - clients searching for "unfair dismissal" are matched to lawyers who have "unfair dismissal" as a sub-category, not just "employment law."

Hourly Rate

Set your standard hourly rate in GBP. This is displayed on your profile and used in AI matching budget scoring.

Availability

Set your working hours so the calendar system can show accurate booking slots to clients.

Languages

Add any languages you work in (other than English). This helps clients who prefer to communicate in their native language.

Profile Completeness

Your dashboard shows a profile completeness score. A complete profile (photo + bio + sub-categories + hourly rate + availability) scores significantly higher in search results.
