Step 5: Run an AI Consultation
How It Starts
A client finds you in search results and books a consultation from your profile. You receive:
- An email notification: "You have a new consultation booking"
- An in-portal notification with the client's name and booking time
Before the Call
- Go to Lawyer Portal → My Consultations
- Find the upcoming consultation
- Ensure your camera and microphone are working
- Review any documents the client has shared in advance (visible in the consultation detail)
Joining the Video Room
At the scheduled time, click Join Consultation in your portal. The embedded video room loads in your browser - no software download needed.
Consent Screen
You and the client both see a consent screen. Both must click I Consent before recording starts.
During the Call
You will see three panels:
- Left: Video call (your camera + client camera + controls)
- Centre: Real-time AI transcript (updates live, speaker-labelled)
- Right: AI Assist panel - suggested questions, scope completeness tracker, detected facts
Use the AI Assist panel to guide the conversation. If the completeness tracker shows gaps, address them before the call ends.
The call auto-ends at 30 minutes.
Post-Call Decision
When the call ends, you see three options:

|---|---|
| Generate AI Scope | A legal matter will follow - let AI draft the scope |
| Create Manual Quotation | You prefer to write your own scope |
| Close as Consultation Only | No matter follows - client just needed advice |
Reviewing the AI Scope
If you selected Generate AI Scope:
- The scope appears in your portal within 1–2 minutes
- You have 24 hours to review and approve
- Edit any section that needs correcting
- Add due dates to each milestone (required before approving)
- Click Preview to see exactly what the client will see
- Click Confirm & Send to Client
The client receives the scope and can now Proceed with Scoping.
