Understanding Legal AI on eSolicitors
AI plays a central role on eSolicitors — but it is always supervised by a qualified lawyer. This page explains what the AI does, what it cannot do, and the safeguards in place.
The Three AI Features
1. Plan My Case — Free AI Legal Advisor
Available to anyone at esolicitors.com/plan-my-case. You describe your situation, the AI asks clarifying questions, and generates a step-by-step action plan.
What it does: Explains your situation in plain English, outlines typical steps, identifies what type of lawyer you might need, and shows relevant lawyers and services on the platform.
What it does not do: Provide legal advice. It cannot tell you whether you will win a case, advise you on specific legal strategy, or substitute for a qualified lawyer's opinion.
How it works: The eSolicitors AI system generates and verifies the content. Key facts are cross-checked in real time against live official sources — gov.uk, HMRC, courts.gov.uk, and other authoritative databases — so the information is current. Every factual statement is marked as verified, single-source, or unverified so you know exactly how reliable it is.

2. AI Scoping Consultation — In the £15 Video Call
During your 30-minute consultation, the AI does two things in real time:
- Transcribes the conversation using the platform's built-in speech-to-text system
- Assists the lawyer with a suggested question panel so no important information is missed
After the call ends, the eSolicitors AI engine processes the transcript and generates a structured scope report covering: case summary, legal issues identified, pricing model recommendation, milestone breakdown, timeline, and client next steps.
What it does: Generates a first draft of the scope report from the conversation transcript.
What it does not do: Issue legal advice. The scope report is a first draft only.
3. The Lawyer Review (Mandatory)
After the AI generates the scope, the lawyer has 24 hours to review and edit it before you see it. The lawyer can:
- Edit any section
- Add or remove milestones
- Change the pricing model
- Add specialist observations
- Reject the scope entirely and write a manual quotation
You only see the scope after the lawyer has reviewed and approved it. Every scope document you receive carries this mandatory notice:
"This scope was generated with AI assistance and has been reviewed and approved by your lawyer. It does not constitute legal advice."
What AI Cannot Do
- Provide a legal opinion on the merits of your case
- Replace a lawyer's professional judgment
- Account for facts or evidence not mentioned in the consultation
- Guarantee any outcome
- Substitute for advice specific to the law in your jurisdiction
The AI provides structure and efficiency. The legal expertise comes from your qualified lawyer.
How Plan My Case Fact-Checks Itself
The Plan My Case AI advisor uses a multi-layer verification system to ensure the information it gives you is current and accurate:
- Key factual claims are searched against live official sources in real time
- Results from multiple sources are compared before a fact is marked as confirmed
- Each fact is labelled: Verified (multiple sources agree), Single Source (one source found), or Unverified (could not confirm — treat with caution)
Every plan includes a disclaimer: "Figures may change — always confirm with the official source."
This verification step is unique to eSolicitors. Most AI tools simply generate content without checking whether the facts are current. Our system is designed to minimise the risk of outdated figures appearing in your plan.
Emergency Detection
If you describe an emergency situation — domestic abuse, immediate eviction threat, arrest, or mental health crisis — the system automatically detects this and shows you relevant emergency helplines before providing any plan. This feature is available 24/7 even if no lawyer is available immediately.
