eSolicitors for UK Lawyers
eSolicitors was built in the UK for UK lawyers first. Whether you are an SRA-regulated solicitor, a BSB-regulated barrister, a Scottish solicitor, or a Northern Ireland practitioner, the platform is designed to work within your regulatory framework.
Who This Covers
- Solicitors regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) (England and Wales)
- Barristers regulated by the Bar Standards Board (BSB) (England and Wales)
- Solicitors regulated by the Law Society of Scotland
- Solicitors regulated by the Law Society of Northern Ireland
Why UK Lawyers Join eSolicitors
Clients come to you. eSolicitors invests in paid advertising (Google, Meta) and organic SEO to bring clients directly to lawyer profiles and service listings. You do not need to build your own client pipeline.
AI takes the admin. The 30-minute AI Scoping Consultation generates a full scope report from a video call transcript. What used to take hours of follow-up emails and note-writing is done in minutes by the AI.
Escrow removes payment risk. Clients pay upfront into escrow at scope acceptance. You deliver against milestones; funds are released on approval. No chasing invoices, no bad debt.
Transparent, competitive fees. Platform fees are fixed per complexity tier — not a percentage of your charges. See Fees and Earnings for the full fee table.
SRA Compliance
The platform is designed with SRA compliance built in.
The mandatory £15 consultation is structured as a technology platform service fee (similar to Zoom charging for a meeting, or Fiverr charging for a listing). It is not fee-sharing and does not require notification to the SRA. The £15 goes entirely to eSolicitors for infrastructure costs.
Escrow payments are not client account. Funds are held in Stripe's regulated escrow infrastructure. You do not need a Stripe account to hold client funds — Stripe holds them.
Recording consent is captured from both parties before each consultation starts. The platform logs consent with a timestamp in the database. Recordings are auto-deleted after 30 days per GDPR requirements.
AI disclaimer appears on every scope document: "This scope was generated with AI assistance and has been reviewed and approved by your solicitor. It does not constitute legal advice." This is mandatory and cannot be removed.
SRA Transparency Rules: The platform prompts you to include pricing information in your service listings, which satisfies publication requirements.

BSB Specifics for Barristers
Barristers must still comply with the BSB Handbook regarding direct access and client care obligations. eSolicitors is designed for direct access work — clients instruct barristers directly through the platform without a solicitor intermediary.
Key points:
- The mandatory consultation is compatible with BSB direct access rules
- Cab rank rule does not apply to direct access work taken on eSolicitors
- You must comply with BSB rules on client care letters (the scope document satisfies this)
- PII must cover direct access work
