Managing Services

Lawyer Services - Create and Manage Listings

Your service listings are how clients find and book you on eSolicitors. A well-written service listing with the right practice area tags and SEO keywords significantly increases your visibility in search results.

Creating a Service Listing

Go to Lawyer Portal → My Services → Create New Service.

Each service listing has the following sections:

1. Basic Information

  • Title - Clear, searchable name for your service (e.g., "Commercial Lease Review - Retail & Office Premises")
  • Practice area - Select the primary practice area (used for filtering in search)
  • Sub-categories - More specific areas within your practice area (multi-select)
  • Description - Plain-English explanation of what the service includes (min 100 words)

2. Pricing

  • Pricing model - Select from 36 available models across 3 sections:
    • Section 1: Milestone-native models (fixed fee, conditional fee, recurring, retainer, hourly block, percentage of value, immediate release, instalment, scope-only)
    • Section 2: Models that require platform adaptation
    • Section 3: Scope-only / external payment models
  • Price - Your fee for the service
  • Currency - GBP (£) only

3. Delivery

  • Estimated delivery - Typical timeframe
  • What's included - Bullet-point list of deliverables
  • What's not included - Any important exclusions

4. Additional Info

  • Jurisdiction - Which jurisdiction(s) this service covers
  • Requirements - What the client needs to provide before you can start
  • FAQs - Common questions about this service

5. SEO Keywords

The platform provides jurisdiction-aware keyword suggestions based on your practice area. You can add these to your service tags with a single click.

Each keyword shows:

  • Demand level (High / Medium / Low) - based on search data
  • Context - where users search for this term (Google, eSolicitors, etc.)

Keywords improve how clients find your service through the platform search engine. Compliance alerts flag any terms that may breach SRA/ASA advertising rules.

The platform's search engine ranks services by multiple factors:

  1. Verification level - Enhanced-verified lawyers appear higher
  2. Subscription tier - Elite and Pro lawyers are boosted
  3. Practice area match - How well your service matches the search query
  4. Profile completeness - Photo, bio, hourly rate, and sub-categories all contribute
  5. Reviews - Higher-rated lawyers appear higher in results
  6. Response rate - How quickly you respond to enquiries

The Find a Lawyer Wizard

Clients who use the advanced Find a Lawyer wizard are matched to lawyers using a 7-criterion scoring system:

Keeping your profile accurate and complete is the most effective way to score well in AI-matched searches.

Service Status Workflow

StatusMeaning
DraftNot yet submitted - visible only to you
PendingSubmitted for admin review (first-time listings only)
ActiveLive and visible to clients
PausedHidden from search but preserved (e.g., when you're on leave)
RejectedNeeds changes - see the rejection reason

Editing and Pausing Services

  • You can edit any service listing at any time
  • Changes to active listings are immediate (no re-approval needed unless pricing model changes significantly)
  • Pausing a service hides it from search without deleting it
  • Deleting a service is permanent - consider pausing instead

Project Bidding vs Service Listings

Service listings are for clients who find and buy directly. Project Bidding is different - clients post a project description, and you submit a custom bid. You can do both.

See Project Bidding for how the project marketplace works.
